The Library
Women and men alike clutch Pahlanuiks, Rowlings, and Vonneguts, immersed in a different life to temporarily disintegrate their own, to put on the jacket of a more interesting, spunky main character. The library is tragic in the way that it holds souls whose decisions are too vague and mundane to be translated into a novel of their own. Books hold the red door, that when unlocked, provides a few hours worth of switching minds with an adventurer, or NYC socialite, or bank teller. The library is a cesspool of yearning.
I blend in perfectly.
